Meet Mike:

Mike is the owner of HMA Paving and Contracting. Established in 1994 by Mike and two friends, HMA Paving and Contracting specializes in excavation, paving and concrete work. Over the years he has helped to build this company into one of the most respected contractors in the Albany, NY market and employs about fifty people during the peak season.

In 1999, Mike went into business with his brother, Bill, owning and operating Hamel Real Estate together. They managed up to two hundred and thirty rental units and are now diversifying their portfolio by purchasing larger complexes.

Mike is the owner of Hamel Coaching and Consulting. He helps business owners and leaders become the best for themselves, their teams and their business. Mike’s years of experience as well as his passion and hunger to help others gives him the knowledge to assist them in achieving their desired results and achieve their goals.

As a member of his community, Mike is a volunteer for the Capital District YMCA. Mike is also a board member for Rensselaer Chamber of Commerce and a board member of the North East Subcontractors Association.

In 2016 Mike formed the Caring Community Basket Brigade. The Basket Brigade fed nine hundred and thirty families a full Thanksgiving meal in 2020. Mike also supports the Capital District Food Pantries, the Double H Camp for kids and the North Country Ministry.

Mike stays active by running, lifting weights and skiing. His most favorite time is spent with his family and friends.

As Mike celebrates the successes that he has achieved in business, he stays very passionate about coaching, consulting and mentoring his employees, new business owners and new leaders.
